Five of a robbers’ gang arrested

They had relieved a businessman of ₹ 9 lakh six years ago

More than six years after they allegedly robbed a businessman in Kanchanbagh, a gang of five persons was nabbed by the Hyderabad Police on Sunday.

According to the Commissioner Task Force officials, a gang of eight persons robbed ₹ 9 lakh from a businessman at D.M.R.L crossroad on March 30, 2012. The victim was on his way to deposit the money in a bank. Having learnt that the victim goes regularly to the bank on a two-wheeler to deposit large sums of money, the robbers struck.

The police arrested five persons – Shaik Ali, Mohammed Saber Hussain, Syed Yakub, Syed Akthar and Mohammed Ayub, while the other three are absconding. Two tolas of gold was recovered from their possession.
