Five GHMC officials may be relieved today


Five senior officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) are expected to be relieved on Tuesday following their allocation to AP. These civic body officers have been allocated to the AP as per the AP Reorganisation Act and the Telangana government has recently issued orders on the matter.

The instructions passed on to the GHMC wanted them to be relieved after September 7 and accordingly, the GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer, Somesh Kumar, is expected to issue necessary orders tomorrow.

Those moving from the civic body to Andhra Pradesh include Additional Commissioners - S. Harikrishna and K. Siva Parvathi, Deputy Commissioners - S.S. Somaraju and D. Gopala Krishna Reddy, and Joint Commissioner - A.V. Ramani. Mr. Harikrishna is presently holding the key charge of Additional Commissioner (Revenue) and has been involved in the civic body’s attempts at raising the revenues by increasing the tax collection net in the city.

Mr. Somaraju is the Deputy Commissioner of Circle-10 which covers the most important areas of the city including Raj Bhavan, Somajiguda and others. While Gopala Krishna Reddy is presently DC, Circle-1, A.V. Ramani is Joint Commissioner, Central Zone.
