Five from city killed in road accidents

Five persons from Hyderabad were killed in two accidents in the State on Thursday.

Three members of a family, who were returning home in Shadnagar after celebrating Raksha Bandhan, were killed on Thursday, in Moinabad police station limits.

According to Rajendranagar ACP K. Ashok Chakravarthy, the victims were identified as Balreddy (45), his wife Jyothi (39) and their daughter Siri (12). The couple’s son Ramcharan (7) sustained minor injuries. They were returning home on a two-wheeler from Chevella, when it collided with an earthmover.

In another accident, two persons were killed and five others injured when the tyre of an Innova burst resulting in an accident on NH-65 on Thursday. According to Zaheerabad SI Ganesh, seven persons from Bowenpally went to Mumbai on Sunday and were returning on Thursday. Their vehicle turned turtle when the front tyre burst. Kartik (24) and Arun Kumar (25) died on the spot. The injured were rushed to government hospital.
