March 17, 2014 11:15 pm | Updated June 13, 2016 03:49 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The RGI Airport police on Monday registered a case against Ravi Teja, son of former Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao, and his friend, B. Inder Tej, after the duo allegedly abused and manhandled an RTC counter clerk on the airport premises.

The police said that the duo consumed liquor at a bar and went to the airport. Ravi and Indertej stood near a bus ticket counter and picked up an argument with Ramesh Goud, the counter clerk, when he asked them to move from the place as it obstructed the movement of passengers. Later they beat him up and damaged the counter, Shamshabad Inspector A. Krishniah said.

On receipt of information, the RGIA police rushed to the spot and arrested them. A case under Section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC was registered against them. The two were produced before a court which remanded them to judicial custody.
