Hyderabad district collected Rs. 1.6 crore as regularisation penalty on Friday alone as 25 applications were received under GO 59. The district administration has so far received 10,929 applications of which 8,190 applications were received for regularisation of encroachments measuring smaller than 125 square yards for BPL families, which does not carry any penalty under the government’s new regularisation scheme.

The district administration has accrued Rs. 2.3 crore, which is only 25 per cent of applicable penalty, collected through demand draft while submitting application.
