Elderly woman ends life

Kuchamgari Bhumavva, 50, reportedly committed suicide at her house at Mirdoddi mandal headquarters on Tuesday. She was survived by a son and daughter. Bhumavva has been living alone in her thatched house with pension amount and kilogram one rupee rice being extended by the State Government. She was also suffering from prolonged illness.

Bhumavva performed marriages of her daughter Renuka and son Krishna due to which she fell in debt trap. Being a daily labourer, Krishna was unable to take care of her financially nor getting her treated for illness. Unable to find a solution for her problems, Bhumavva hanged herself to death. However, no case was registered with the police as there was no complaint registered by the family members.
