Editorial director of news channel held

Editorial director of a Telugu news channel was arrested by the personnel of Central Crime Station for cheating managing director of another media house to the tune of ₹ 1.15 crore.

The accused, Sriramdas Chandrasekhar of AP 24X7 news channel, took ₹ 1.15 crore from Abram Pedda Ramaiah Yadav of M/s APR News Media Limited, on the pretext of supplying technical equipment.

“Chandrasekhar approached Yadav stating that he knows a technical equipment supplier, B. Shankar of Omega Media Solutions, Kolkata, to start an electronic media house and they entered into an agreement but cheated him after taking money,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department) Avinash Mohanty.

Based on the complaint lodged by Mr. Yadav, the CCS police registered a case and arrested Chandrasekhar. He was remanded to judicial custody.
