Two men were apprehended by security guards of a movie theatre and handed over to the police when they were found moving suspiciously in the company of two minor girls at Singareni Colony. The police later found that the duo had allegedly sexually assaulted one of the minor girls.

Saidabad police identified the accused as Dasaru, 23, and Motilal, 25. They are residents of a settlement near Singareni Colony.

According to the police, on Saturday at around 5.30 p.m., the duo lured two minor girls, one 11 years old and another 8 years old, and took them on a two-wheeler to an abandoned building on the pretext of watching a movie at a nearby theatre.

After entering the building, they allegedly took the victims to a cellar where they sexually assaulted the 11-year-old girl.

Test results awaited

Saidabad Inspector K.V.L. Narasimha Rao said, “It was only after Motilal led the victim outside that the security guards and patrons of the theatre grew suspicious and questioned the accused. The victim then told them what had happened. They then called the police”. The victims were sent to a hospital and test results are awaited. The accused are in police custody and have been booked under sections 376-D (gang rape) and 363 (kidnapping) of the IPC.
