Drafting manifestos no easy task

March 23, 2014 12:10 am | Updated November 16, 2021 09:35 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Drafting a party manifesto is no mean task. It’s no more a document in which every political party tries to shower more sops than their rival parties.

With the elections being held before the formation of the new State of Telangana, leaders entrusted with the job of drafting the manifestoes are burning midnight oil. They do realise that it would be a historic manifesto because the State of Telangana would come into existence on the appointed day of June 2, barely a fortnight after the results are out.

While the Telugu Desam, BJP and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) are yet to release their election manifestoes, only the Lok Satta stole a march over other parties by releasing its party manifesto.

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) manifesto committee, headed by D. Sridhar Babu and Bhatti Vikramarka have been fully engrossed in the preparing the document. Even while gathering opinions from different sections of society on what should be the manifesto, the TPCC manifesto came up with a novel idea.

It is now seeking people’s suggestions on the manifesto. A simple website www.tpccmc.org has been designed and hosted on the web where general public can send their suggestions which the TPCC manifesto committee says will help the party build a progressive and vibrant Telangana.
