Dialysis care provider extends its reach

Dialysis care provider NephroPlus has acquired DaVita Care India, which runs kidney care centres, for an undisclosed sum.

Briefing mediapersons here, NephroPlus founder and CEO Vikram Vuppala on Monday said under the agreement, the company will acquire DaVita Care India’s network of 22 dialysis centres in the country that serve more than 1,700 patients.

With the acquisition, NephroPlus would have network of 176 centers across 97 cities in 18 States. DaVita Care India, with a turnover of ₹50 crore, is a part of DaVita Inc., a Fortune 500 company, a release said.

Mr. Vuppala said this was one of the many acquisitions that NephroPlus is planning of dialysis service providers, typically networks comprising 10-20 centres.

The company is also looking to foray into South East Asia and Middle East, for which it intended to raise ₹130-150 crore in Series D by March.

Since its inception about eight years ago, the company had ₹200 crore, including about ₹100 crore in the last, Series C round.

In 2017-18, NephroPlus had clocked a turnover of ₹150 crore and is aiming for ₹200 crore this fiscal.
