The State government has been taking all measures to develop the newly-formed district by setting up more industries to provide employment to the local youth. Accordingly, the government has planned to set up a food processing park in 50 acres of land at Narmala village in Gambhiraopeta mandal.
The government has also decided to set up industrial parks at Pedduru village in Sircilla mandal and Jillela village in Thangallapalli mandal to provide employment to unemployed youth in the district, said Minister for IT and Municipal Administration K.T. Rama Rao.
Speaking after hoisting the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds as part of the formation day celebrations in Sircilla textile town on Friday, he said they have ensured setting up of 58 industries at a cost of ₹81 crore through TS-iPASS (Telangana State – industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System) and provided employment to 812 persons in the new district.
With regard to the powerloom industry in Sircilla town, Mr. Rama Rao said the government adopted a three-pronged strategy to strengthen the industry and provide assured monthly income of ₹15,000 to each weaver in the region. He said the government was providing bulk orders for the production of school uniforms, Bathukamma sarees and KCR Kits to the weavers. They were also providing yarn and chemicals with subsidy and have modernised the existing powerlooms to produce value-added fabric.
He said they had proposed an apparel park at Mandepalli village in Thangallapalli mandal at a cost of ₹30 crore to provide employment to over 5,000 women in the garment industry. To provide employment to handloom weavers, the government had also instructed all the officials to wear handloom at least once a week.
The Minister said the completion of the ongoing Manoharabad and Kothapalli railway line via Sircilla and Vemulawada would result in more development activities in the district. He said Sri Raja Rajeshwaram Swamy Devasthanam at Vemulawada would be developed into one of the famous temple shrines at a cost of over ₹400 crore.
Earlier, he paid floral tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs’ Memorial and garlanded the statue of a weaver in the town. TSCAB Chairman K. Ravinder Rao, Vemulawada legislator Ch. Ramesh Babu, Collector D. Krishna Bhaskar and others were also present.
