Denizens vent ire online

Heavy rain in the city saw net-savvy denizens vent their ire about roads and public infrastructure online. GHMC and Municipal Administration Minister K. T. Rama Rao was drawn into the line of fire.

Images of inundated streets and homes, alongside those of vehicles caught in traffic snarls, and banter about the city’s infrastructure, flooded Facebook and Twitter.

“Four hours of rain and our ‘Vishwanagaram’ Hyderabad has become the city of Venice. Such a transformation. Wow!” exclaimed one tweet, echoing several others.

That notwithstanding, many also took to Twitter to share GHMC emergency contact numbers, besides informing authorities of power outage and areas with water stagnation. Civic authorities were asked to keep track of all complaints and address them.
