KCR promises pollution allowance for traffic personnel, houses and increase in uniform allowance

The State Government will earmark ten percent of the total houses constructed under government housing schemes for policemen. This apart it will also allot house sites in municipalities across the State to Sub-Inspector and above ranked personnel.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made this announcement during the Police Commemoration Day function held at Goshamahal Stadium on Wednesday morning. He also said that the government will pay 30 per cent of the basic salary as pollution allowance to the traffic policemen.

He also informed that the uniform allowance for the policemen will be increased from Rs.3, 500 to Rs. 7,500 and complete waiver of registration fee for house sites.

The Chief Minister asked the policemen to be a partner in the growth of the State. “Police should ensure that peace prevails. The government is with the police and at the same time we expect them to be good to the public and support the government in achieving its goals,” Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao said.

Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Director General of Police Anurag Sharma spoke. Later, the Chief Minister accompanied by the Home Minister and the DGP laid wreath at the martyr’s memorial. Senior police officials were present.

Four policemen were killed in Nalgonda district during the last one year . All the four, D. Siddaiah – Sub Inspector; Ch. Nagaraju – constable; M. Lingaiah and Mahesh were killed in the Alair encounter in April.

Meanwhile, the police also organised a State-wide photography and short film competition to mark the martyr’s day. Policemen and civilians from various districts of the State participated in the competitions. The Chief Minister presented prizes to the winners after the Commemoration Day function.

In Hyderabad, the police organised free medical camps for the benefit of the poor. One such camp was organised at Khilwath by the south zone police.

Hyderabad Commissioner, M. Mahender Reddy inaugurated the camp. Around 1,000 people visited the camp where doctors from different hospitals offered consultation and gave medicines free of cost.

Cyberabad Commissioner C.V. Anand participated in the commemoration day programme held at the commissionerate at Gachibowli.
