CS sets deadline for submission of details on cadre strength

General Administration Department to submit it to government by July 15

The State government has set Monday as deadline for the heads of departments to submit details of cadre strength and categorisation of different posts under their purview in line with the Presidential Orders to the respective secretaries.

The secretaries should examine the details received from their respective departments and submit detailed reports to the General Administration Department by July 12. The GAD, in turn, would process the information and submit it to the government by July 15. Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi, who convened a meeting of the secretaries of different departments on Friday, gave directions to this effect to the departments concerned.

The departments should categorise the existing cadre under district, zonal, multi-zonal and State levels so that the exercise of putting in place new service rules could be taken up. Steps should be initiated to fill the vacancies through direct recruitment and the HoDs should accordingly submit the details pertaining to their respective departments in a time-bound manner. The meeting also reviewed the preparedness with regard to conducting municipal elections, and Municipal Administration Secretary Arvind Kumar informed that the State Election Commission had deputed teams to Yadadri Bhongir and Medak districts to assess their preparedness to hold the elections.

The meeting discussed the progress of work on land record updation programme. The officials concerned were asked to tally the revenue records with the forest land records based on which forest land could be notified and the exercise should be completed before the month-end.

The meeting also reviewed the status of the applications, pending and cleared, made under the ROFR Act. Tribal Welfare Department officials informed the Chief Secretary that 82,075 applications received for regularisation of land under the ROFR Act have been rejected on various grounds. Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy said the government was firm on resolving the issues pertaining to issuance of pattas relating to forest land as well as Podu cultivation soon.

The meeting decided to appoint nodal officers mandal-wise to enhance accountability of the Harita Haaram programme. Proposals for enrolling agriculture extension officers, field assistants of MGNREGA, village secretaries and horticulture officials for Harita Haaram programme were also discussed. The preparedness for the conduct of 2021 census came up for discussion during the meeting and the officials concerned were directed to send the relevant details.
