CS reviews monsoon preparedness

Chief Secretary S. P. Singh on Monday directed all Government departments to open control rooms and keep emergency response teams ready to face any disaster arising out of the South west monsoon like floods, and hailstorms.

At a meeting he chaired at the Secretariat here with officials of agriculture, animal husbandry, police, disaster response, Army, Air Force, met department and others, he took stock of the preparedness and coordination among various wings with regard to drinking water, food, fodder, essential commodities, equipment and so on.

He called for holding of mock exercises and drill at places identified as vulnerable, a press release said.
