CPI(ML) calls for protest against Obama’s visit

January 24, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) New Democracy has called for protests against US President Barack Obama’s visit to India on January 25.

The party ascribed the visit to his intentions of plundering the country’s resources, fortifying American hegemony in atomic and defence sectors, and strengthening of strategic relations with Indian sub-continent to China’s detriment.

Mr. Obama’s aim is to pull India into American international strategy of invasive wars, intrusive policies, and coups against other elected governments.

BJP government at the Centre is serving the interests of American imperialism, by surrendering to it the cheap labour and natural resources, the note said, and cited foreign investments in Insurance and Defence and ordinance to amend Land Acquisition Act as examples.

CPI city unit announced that it would burn his effigy in Basheerbagh on Saturday.
