CPI(M) Telangana State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram has, in an open letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, sought Centre’s action against officials and others involved in land scams in Telangana State.

He demanded CBI inquiry into the scams that had allegedly taken place in and around Hyderabad. Wrongful occupation of 816 acres of land in Miyapur and 30 acres in Gachibowli have been recently detected, apart from lands occupied in Dandumailaram, Shamshabad, Medchal and Patancheru areas.

Recently 78 acres have been located in Bojagutta, which have been occupied by an MLC from Andhra Pradesh, and during 2008-2010, hundreds of acres of government land was transferred to private individuals. Many Wakf lands too are under illegal occupation, he mentioned.

He requested the Home Minister to initiate action as per law against officials and political leaders involved in the scams.
