Cordon and search operation

Sixty-three vehicles, nine cylinders and gas cutters were seized while 40 suspects were taken into custody during a cordon and search operation conducted at Uppal by the Cyberabad police early on Thursday.

Around 360 policemen drawn from Special Operations Team, Central Crime Station, Armed Reserve and civil police cordoned off the Chilkanagar locality in Uppal and carried out a door-to-door search. “Around 3,000 houses were searched. We ensured that the general public were not inconvenienced,” DCP Malkajgiri, R. Rama Rajeshwari said.
