A 38-year-old migrant labourer from Wanaparthy was hit with a hammer by another worker at a construction site in Bachupally, on Sunday afternoon.

“As the contractor was not present on the site, the victim, G. Kurmaiah, was not attending the work and the accused, K. Sravan (26) of Tandur village, entered into an argument with him,” police said.

Kurmaiah hit Sravan with an iron rod, and the latter responded by throwing a hammer at him, hitting his head. He was rushed to hospital, but was declared ‘brought dead’. Sravan was arrested.
