Chennai-based truck aggregator Lynk that connects shippers with transporters on Thursday announced launch of its operations in Hyderabad.
This is the second city where the Ramco Group-backed tech platform for intra-city logistics will be available, co-founders Abinav Raja and Shekhar Bhende said, adding the company was keen on expanding to Delhi, Mumbai and Pune in the next phase.
The response to the trial was encouraging and the number of vehicles on the platform would increase manifold from the existing 30. Three and four wheeler goods carriers form part of the operations in Hyderabad. In Chennai, only four-wheelers form part of the fleet consisting of 800 vehicles, they said. The cost (per minute), for customers ranges from ₹3 for three-wheelers such as Piaggio mini-trucks that can carry up to 0.5 tonne load; ₹4 for vehicles like Tata Ace (payloads upto one tonne); to ₹5 for relatively bigger vehicles. such as Ashok Leyland’s Dost truck (1.25 tonne).
Besides commercial enterprises, small businesses, Lynk platform is also utilised by individuals for house shifting.
The Ramco Group has invested around ₹3.5 crore. Lynk is in discussions to raise funds from external investors and expected the transactions to be completed this year, Mr. Raja said.
