An assistant professor working in Chemistry department of Osmania University (OU) has been accused of deceiving a Ph.D scholar by going back on his promise to marry her and tying the knot with another woman recently , police said.
OU Inspector G. Jagan said the woman, also an assistant professor at Kakatiya University, alleged Kiran Kumar, a resident of Vidyanagar, took ₹ 25 lakh as well as sexual favours from her, promising to marry her, police said, adding that they were in a relationship for the past 10 years. “When the woman confronted him, Kiran physically assaulted her. He will be called in for questioning on Monday,” OU police said.
