The Bhongir police investigating the sensational murders of three minor girls of Hajipur village in the district, have filed charge-sheets before the POCSO court in Nalgonda on Wednesday.

“ACP Bhongir investigated the cases, in a stipulated 90-day limit, and filed the charge-sheets in the three cases today,” Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri Deputy Commissioner of Police K. Narayana Reddy said in a release.

The rape and murder of the minor girls, one dating back to April 2015, were unearthened in Hajipur’s abandoned well in the last week of April, when an 18-year-old went missing and was found buried in the same well on the April 26.

Subsequently, a minor girl who went missing in May, was exhumed following interrogation of the sole accused in the murders Marri Srinivas Reddy.

The police had enough material to believe that Srinivas Reddy murdered all the three girls, preceded by sexual assault, after obtaining crime scene details and elaborate forensic evaluation. The investigating team headed by Bhongir ACP Bhujanga Rao also sought the court’s permission multiple times for custody of the accused, and interrogated the cases one at a time.

DCP Mr. Narayana Reddy expressed confidence that the accused would be convicted, and his team was alert in taking steps to expedite trials through a fast-track court
