Barely a week after a string of chain-snatching incidents were reported in Rachakonda commissionerate, on Thursday afternoon another unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreant snatched a six tola gold chain from a woman at Prashantinagar in Kapra.

Kushaiguda police said Madhavi (45) was walking on the roadside when a biker snatched the chain and fled. The police registered a case and are analysing the video footages of CCTV cameras in the area to identify the accused. The incident took place around 12.30 p.m.

When asked about the progress in the string of chain-snatching cases reported in Vanasthalipuram, L.B. Nagar, Hayathnagar and Meerpet police station limits, a senior police officer said that the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force team reportedly apprehended the miscreants in Uttar Pradesh earlier this week. However, they are yet to recover the booty from the receiver.
