Case against Little Flower High School

The Abids police registered a case against the principal and staff of Little Flower High School, Abids following a complaint filed by a parent alleging verbal and physical abuse of his two children studying in the school.

Michel Sohel, an IT consultant from Shantinagar, alleged in his complaint that the principal of the school, Brother Anthony Reddy, and 11 other teachers physically and verbally abused his children, Omer Sohel and Osman Sohel, ninth and sixth standard students respectively, over the last few months for not concentrating on studies.

“The principal is advising parents to remove their wards from the school if they cannot cope with studies,” Mr. Sohel stated in his complaint. He along with two other parents filed a complaint with the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) in this regard. When contacted Abids police station, Sub Inspector M. Laxman said a case was registered based on the parents’ complaint. As part of the investigation, the police visited the school and recorded the statements of a few students. The school management was not available for comments.

Two bike lifters held

The Madhapur police on Wednesday arrested a junior artist, T. Nagarjuna (24), and his accomplice N. Linganna (24) on charges of stealing two-wheelers. The police recovered 20 motorcycles at their instance.
