A grocery store owner Keval Chand shot himself dead with a pistol in his sister’s house at Retreat Colony of Alwal on Friday evening, the police said.
Reasons behind his suicide are not yet known, Alwal Inspector B. Pushpan Kumar said. Thirty-seven-year-old Chand, who hailed from Rajasthan shifted to Hyderabad a few years ago. He was running Ganesh grocery store at Retreat Colony.
Around 5 p.m., he went to the house of his sister living in the same locality. He asked his sister to go to his wife and tell the latter to get ready for a journey to Rajasthan. By the time his sister returned, he went into a room, bolted from inside and shot on his head.
As he failed to respond calls, his sister called the neighbours who forcibly opened the doors and found him lying in a pool of blood. “He was alive then and rushed to Gandhi Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” the Inspector said.
