Congress MLA T. Jayaprakash Reddy demanded the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) to address the water crisis immediately by bringing Godavari water to the district headquarters. He said he was ready to meet Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard along with TRS Lok Sabha MP K. Prabhakar Reddy and former MLA Chinta Prabhakar.

He added that since Godavari water was coming up to Patancheru, it could be extended to Sangareddy constituency as well.

No concrete plan

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday after submitting a memorandum to Collector and Joint Collector, Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy said the people of Sangareddy constituency were facing a serious water crisis and the government has failed to address the issue. Stating that no concrete plan has been made so far in this regard, he said this was an issue that needs to be addressed on a war-footing till Singur dam was filled. “There is enough time for political mud-slinging and we can do it at a later stage after addressing the water problem. Let us first try to address the problem together,” Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy appealed to the Chief Minister.
