Administration does not appear disturbed: Kishan Reddy

The TS BJP unit has demanded that the government crack down strongly on the gangs indulging in women trafficking and prostitution rings prevalent in the districts adjoining the capital making use of the Nirbhaya Act.

It also called for a comprehensive probe into the entire gamut of happenings to prevent recurrence and protect the innocent children. “It is shameful that even small children are not being spared with gangs kidnapping them and later forcing them into prostitution by injecting hormones,” lamented party floor leader in Telangana Assembly G. Kishan Reddy on Wednesday.

“The government has been gloating about the hi-tech policing, She teams and other infrastructure to the police force. Unfortunately, they could not detect the nefarious activities as was discovered in Yadadri recently which is not a recent one and has been going on for years,” he pointed out.

At a press conference, Mr. Reddy charged that the perpetrators behind such criminal acts have been arrested earlier for women trafficking but the police have failed to establish the crime and they have been subsequently released. More than 900 children kidnapped from different parts of the State were yet to be rescued and there has been no sign of the police or the government being perturbed by the developments, he observed.

These “anti-social, inhuman” activities have been continuing in other districts of Warangal, Nizamabad and others under the garb of voluntary or social service or religious organisations with unscrupulous middlemen purchasing the girl children from certain communities to force them later into prostitution, he alleged.

“Girls from the minority community are also being lured in the name of marriage to Gulf countries and later they are cheated,” said the BJP leader. His point was that all these were happening right under the nose of the police but save for initiatives by a few conscientious officers, There has been no uniform policy to deal sternly as raids have been conducted before too with short-lived effect.
