Two bike-borne chain-snatchers suspected to be members of the Bawariya gang from Uttar Pradesh reportedly rented the 200CC sports bike from an online rental website and the vehicle was delivered to them at Malakpet.

The city police found the bike in Bhavani Nagar police station area and it was registered in the name of Naga Bhanu Maheshwar Reddy Chaganti.

The police questioned Faisal, from whom the bike was recovered on Thursday night. “Faisal informed us that around 5 p.m. on Thursday, two persons handed over the vehicle to him at Malakpet. The former hired the bike for attending a marriage function,” a police officer said.

It was understood that, based on the details provided by Faisal, the police were getting the sketches of the suspects drawn. The cops also questioned the authorities of the online rental website.

The bike-borne duo, who committed 10 chain-snatchings in the LB Nagar police zone, were identified as Pinku and Mohan from Uttar Pradesh, police said.

A senior police officer said that when the crimes were committed, the anti-chain snatching team of Rachakonda was not on the spot.
