Bhatti sees ‘political extremism’ in Telangana

TRS brazenly violating Constitution by encouraging defections openly, says CLP leader

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Bhatti Vikramarka alleged that ‘political extremism’ was being practised in Telangana with the ruling party brazenly violating the Constitution and encouraging defections openly.

“The prevailing situation is nothing but political extremism and all kinds of extremisms are dangerous to the society and the country,” Mr. Vikramarka said at a press conference. He said the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was no less than a ‘political extremist’ who was hell bent on finishing the opposition while referring to the defection of Congress MLAs to the ruling party.

Stating that democracy was in real danger in Telangana, he said the Congress MLAs were being lured with contracts, regularisation of lands and others financial benefits. The TRS is openly luring or threatening the MLAs and unfortunately even the Governor, who is supposed to safeguard the Constitution, is silent on the issue.

Mr. Vikramarka said the party would approach the Lokpal on the corruption in the name of re-designing the projects. “The Chief Minister has garnered money illegally and we will recover all that money,” he alleged.

The CLP leader, who earlier called on the Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy in Banswada seeking disqualification of four more Congress MLAs, demanded that the Speaker take action against the MLAs as he has given disqualification petitions with all the evidence. “Those who want to change the parties have to first resign and do so,” he reminded.
