Better coordination sought for success of Rythu Bheema

June 30 is the deadline for filling nominee details

Calling out members of the Rythu Samanvaya Samithi and officials in the three districts – Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, panel chariman Gutha Sukhender Reddy on Wednesday reminded that only better coordination among all players would pave way for success of Rythu Bheema Pathakam.

The State’s scheme of providing ₹ 5 lakh life insurance to every farmer, effective August 15, is in the process of ground work – nominee filling. However, the progress in the united district is very slow with only ten days left for the June 30 deadline.

“Of the 5.8 lakh pattadar passbooks distributed, only 82,000 farmers’ nominee-filling has been completed. What we all need is better samanvayam (coordination) now,” he said, addressing members at the scheme’s orientation meet here.

Updated details showed Nalgonda has completed 15 % work, and Suryapet and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri districts have done 13% and 10% work respectively, he added.

Chief guest Minister for Agriculture & Cooperation Pocharam Srinivas Reddy also reminded everyone on and off-stage that agriculture in Telangana, unlike any State, was a family affair being directed by its head – the Chief Minister, through innovative schemes. And coordination is the need of the hour.

“Even beggars on roads have organisations, but farmers didn’t. From creating Rythu Samanvaya Samithi, to rolling out Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bheema, the State is now the look-at destination for agriculture and farmers’ welfare in the country,” he said.

Refreshing the programme’s outline, the Minister said the schedule includes completion of nominee-filling by conducting door-to-door surveys by June 30, updation of such details on tablet devices by July 15, premium payment to Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on August 1, and distribution of policy certificates to beneficiaries August 15 onwards.

Minister for Energy and SC Development G. Jagadish Reddy, MP B. Lingaiah Yadav, Nalgonda District Collectors Gaurav Uppal and K. Surendra Mohan, Agriculture Commissioner M. Jagan Mohan and others were present.
