The 48-hours bandh taken up by the Telangana Industrialists Federation (TIF) in all the parts of Telangana came to an end on Tuesday. The TIF members said that the two-day bandh was participated by the 10,000 small, medium and large industrialists and 5 lakh employees and workers in the nine districts of Telangana.

“Our estimates suggest that loss to the tune of Rs. 1,000 crore was incurred by our members during the 48 hours strike.

Apart from this, the Central and State revenue departments could have suffered a loss of Rs. 200 crore,” president, TIF, K. Sudheer Reddy said.

During the two-day protest, industrialists and workers joined hands and organised rallies in support of Sakala Janula Samme in Nalgonda, Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medak and Khammam districts. The TIF members said that they have decided to stop payment of VAT, excise and electricity bills to the State Government until the Sakala Janula Samme is called-off.

The TIF members also criticised the stand on the Telangana issue taken up by members of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI). “FAPPCI is wrongfully propagating that industries are going back from the State, jobs are being lost, industrial growth rate of State has come down, new investments are not coming due the Telangana agitation,” the TIF members in a press release said.

“It is the wrong policies of State government that is responsible for the industries backing out of Andhra Pradesh than the ongoing Telangana agitation. The FAPCCI should realise this and also speak against the injustice done to the Telangana region,” Mr. Sudheer Reddy said.
