‘Bada Modi’-‘Chota Modi’ nexus exposed: Uttam

‘KCR has proved his loyalty to Modi again’

The Telangana Congress has alleged that the “Bada Modi”-“Chota Modi” friendship was exposed in the Lok Sabha, referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, when the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) abstained from voting on the No-Confidence Motion on Friday.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, who addressed a press conference here along with A. Revanth Reddy, MLA, Anil Kumar Yadav, Youth Congress president, Vinod Reddy, TPCC secretary, and Abid Rasool Khan, former Minorities Commission Chairman, said the Chief Minister had proved his loyalty to Mr. Modi yet again.

He said the Congress had been speaking about their open friendship and they proved it in Parliament again. He said KCR was a supporter of Mr. Modi and the enthusiasm shown in supporting BJP candidate for President post Ramnath Kovind and appreciating demonetisation was evident of that. KCR did not support a Dalit leader like Meira Kumar but chose an RSS leader.

The TPCC chief said TRS supported the BJP and MIM supported TRS openly and still they shed crocodile tears about attacks on minorities and dalits. Supporting TRS means supporting the BJP and the MIM, and they all seem to complement each other, he felt asking minorities to be cautious of the nexus. He asked why TRS MPs did not raise the issue of 12% Muslim reservation in Parliament.

Mr. Reddy also took exception to the performance of the TRS in the debate, charging they neither demanded implementation of the Act in totality nor criticised Mr. Modi for not fulfilling the promises. They failed to raise issues pertaining to Bayyaram steel plant, tribal university, railway coach factory and others.

The TRS MPs also remained mute when Mr. Modi criticised the formation of Telangana itself. However, he said the Prime Minister had endorsed Congress’ role in granting statehood to Telangana.

He said while Congress gave Telangana with Hyderabad and its revenues, the TRS Government handed over seven mandals to Andhra Pradesh and the Sileru project after it came to power. After four years, they spoke about it only to mislead the people.

Rahul praised

Praising Rahul Gandhi, he said the Congress president completely exposed the failures of the Modi Government. He also praised the hugging of Mr. Modi, saying Mr. Gandhi acted with grace and love despite Mr. Modi’s team running a hate campaign against him.
