Awasthi is chief of Hakimpet Air Force Station

Air Commodore D.K. Awasthi on Monday took over command of the Air Force Station, Hakimpet, from Air Commodore Sanjay Nimesh, who was posted to the Air Headquarters, New Delhi.

A press release said Air Commodore Awasthi was commissioned as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1985 and has to his credit, over 3,300 hours of flying experience on various fighter aircraft apart from serving in various field and command assignments over a span of 26 years.

An alumnus of the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, he has gone through various courses like the Senior Defence Management Course, Higher Air Command Course, Security and Intelligence Orientation Course and aircraft Human Factor and Accident Investigation Course.
