Assurances from the Andhra Pradesh government and different political parties have failed to stop the flight of north-eastern people from city.
Many of them were seen travelling back home on Saturday. There was a perceptible increase in the number of people leaving the city, despite the visit of two Assam Ministers, who expressed satisfaction over the security measures.
Though those moving out were fewer here, compared to other cities over the past four days, people in good numbers were going home on Saturday.
Trains leaving for Howrah and stations in the northeast were packed, prompting the South Central Railway (SCR) to provide extra coaches.
Meanwhile, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has been instructed to escort the passengers to the trains.
An SCR spokesperson said two additional general coaches would be attached to the Hyderabad-Howrah East Coast Express and four coaches to the Secunderabad-Guwahati weekly express on Sunday.
Authorities said three additional general ticket counters would also be opened at the station during departure of these trains.
The SCR is summoning officers and supervisors from other branches to manage the queues and the counters.
Authorities said steps would be taken to ensure the smooth handling of the passenger rush.
