Asad declares assets

The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) chief, Asaduddin Owaisi, who filed his nomination for Hyderabad Parliamentary constituency on Thursday declared movable assets of Rs.27.84 lakh and immovable assets to the tune of more than Rs.3.10 crores. The affidavit furnished by him also mentions movable assets worth Rs.6.35 lakh and immovable assets of Rs.51.30 lakh in the name of his wife.

The declaration included Rs.11.50 lakh cash in hand and deposits of around Rs.16.34 lakh in two banks at Somajiguda and New Delhi apart from 20 tolas of gold jewellery worth Rs.6 lakhs with his wife.

The details show acquisition of three acres of non-agricultural land at Mailardevpally by Mr.Owaisi and one acre by his wife with current market values presented as Rs.1.53 crore and Rs.51 lakh respectively.

The other immovable assets include a commercial property at Banjara Hills with present market value of Rs.50 lakhs and residential properties at Road No.1, Banjara Hills (Rs.54 lakhs) and a house at Misrigunj (Rs.42 lakhs). In the affidavit, Mr.Owaisi makes a mention of total liabilities standing at around Rs.1.40 crores.

During the 2009 election, the affidavit filed by the MIM chief showed bank deposits of Rs.2.96 lakhs apart from immovable assets of the commercial building at Banjara Hills and the residential flats at Banjara Hills and Misrigunj.
