Another 'Pak-printed' F.I.C.N. racket busted

The Kulsumpura police on Tuesday busted a three-member gang which was circulating fake Indian currency notes printed in Pakistan and smuggled into India through Bangladesh.

While two of the accused, Md. Talim, 20, and Md. Arsi, 30, hailed from Bihar, the kingpin, Md. Haji Kul, 32, was from Malda of West Bengal. Talim and Arsi were caught by the police when they were reportedly exchanging counterfeit currency note of Rs. 1,000 denomination at Puranapul fruit market.

Based on the duo's confession, the police picked up Kul who told them that he was brought to Hyderabad by Habeeb who was operating the racket.Goshamahal ACP, Limba Reddy, said Habeeb would come to the city now and then carrying the consignments of F.I.C.Ns., hand them over to Kul and the other two accused for exchanging them. Kul rented a house in Borabanda. He was instructed to deposit the genuine Indian currency notes obtained by presenting fake ones in a bank account. The gang had already circulated F.I.C.Ns having face value of Rs 1 lakh.
