Amit Shah’s visit endorsed secret ties of BJP-TRS: Congress

Early elections only with Centre’s approval, says TPCC leader

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy said that the visit of BJP National president Amit Shah has only endorsed the secret ties between the BJP and the TRS despite the best efforts of Mr. Shah to project an anti-TRS stand.

In a statement here, he said the entire people of Telangana know that the final nod for early elections in Telangana was given after caretaker Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekara Rao met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The entire process is being driven at a rapid pace with the tacit support of the Central government and Mr. Shah was trying to mislead people about the early elections in his tour here.

He reminded that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao not only supported BJP government at the Centre in all its moves like demonetisation and GST, but also the TRS party voted for BJP candidates in the elections for President of India and Vice President.

Mr. Reddy said the BJP did not implement any promise made for Telangana in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act like a steel plant at Bayyaram, Railway Coach Factory, IIM and IIT or funds for ITIR. Not a single project of Telangana has been accorded the National Project status and even High Court was not bifurcated.

He said by mentioning suicides by 4,200 farmers, torture of Dalits in Sircilla and arrest of chilli farmers, Mr. Shah has only admitted BJP’s failure. “Why did the Union Home Ministry not take action when Dalits were brutally tortured by local police for raising voice against KCR family-backed sand mafia?”

Mr. Reddy also charged Mr. Shah for inciting communal feelings to gain ground in Telangana. “He completely avoided real issues and tried to divert people’s attention by speaking about MIM, Razakars and Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations.”
