Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah on Wednesday visited several parts of erstwhile Nalgonda district, including Gundrampalli village in Chityal mandal, where he interacted with people, going from one house to another.

He met a cross-section of party leaders and cadres, right down to the booth-level. Visiting the families of about six persons who lost their lives in the hands of the Razakars, he told them they were part of a glorious history of having stood up bravely against the might of the Nizams.

He told them that Gundrampalli village thus had its own place in the fight against the Nizam and his private army of Razakars. He told them that the BJP would do everything to ensure that the benefits of Central schemes reached the village.

Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi founder Manda Krishna met Mr. Shah in Nalgonda and urged him to take steps to introduce a Bill during the monsoon session of Parliament regarding categorisation of Scheduled Castes. Later, Mr. Shah was given a rousing welcome when he entered Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district, where cadres took out a motorcycle rally.
