Enthused by the response to public meeting addressed by the national party president, Amit Shah, at Mahabubnagar, the Telangana unit of Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to hold another such meeting in Karimnagar in next two weeks.

Union Minister Smriti Irani too has been invited to participate in a grand conclave of women self-help groups to be held on Sept.27 in the city, where she will be interacting with the members to enquire about various schemes taken up by the Modi government towards women and their implementation here. These details were shared by TS party chief K. Laxman at a press conference on Sunday, where he also stated that the party was going to contest all the 119 constituencies. About 50 public meetings were being planned to be held across the State, in which Union Ministers will be participating.

“We have finalised our candidates and will release the names once the election schedule is announced. Right now we do not know when the polls will be held. Is KCR an astrologer to predict that they will be held in November,” he asked. The BJP leader challenged the Majlis Party to contest all seats in the State and show its strength rather than put up candidates in 10 constituencies after ‘match fixing’ with TRS party.

“It is not enough to sit at home and tweet. I challenge Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi to a State-wide political fight, which will determine who has the people’s support,” said Mr. Laxman. Mr. Shah’s strong assertion about the relationship with TRS has not only instilled confidence among the party cadre but also sent a strong message to the citizens that BJP was the only alternative to the “dynastic rule and family politics” here.

He reiterated that his party would be hoisting the national flag in every nook and corner of TS to commemorate Liberation Day tomorrow, which he accused was not being celebrated because of Majlis’s pressure tactics.
