All set for SSC exams from Monday

March 23, 2012 10:23 am | Updated 10:23 am IST - HYDERABAD:

About 10,000 less students will be taking the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) public examinations to be held from March 26 to April 11. The exams will be held between 9.30 a.m. and 12 noon.

The Director of Government Examinations, B. Manmadha Reddy said that 12.87 lakh candidates will be appearing for the examinations. The reduction in candidates is in the private category and not among regular students. He said 200 new centres have been included this year to deal with the availability of furniture. The exams are being held at 5,849 centres. To check any malpractices, 300 flying squads have been formed.

The computerised hall-tickets have been sent to the heads of institutions. Those students who did not receive the hall-tickets can download them, but they should be attested by the concerned headmasters. The hall-tickets can be downloaded from ‘www.bseap.org'.

Mr. Reddy said that students should visit the examination centre in advance to avert last-minute difficulties in locating them. Students should be in the hall 30 minutes before the scheduled time as they have to fill the OMR sheet carefully. He said students should take utmost care to ensure that OMR sheet given is theirs.

Keeping in view mistakes last year, he said superintendents have been asked to draw the papers from police themselves rather than entrusting the job to lower level officials. Utmost care should be taken while taking out the correct set. Invigilators should not carry mobiles phones into the examination halls.
