Hours after the Intermediate advanced supplementary results were announced, an MPC second year student was found dead inside the bathroom of his house at the APHB Colony in Balanagar on Sunday evening.

Deepak Jangid (19), son of Kamal Kishore Jangid, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his bathroom, after he failed in the supplementary exam also, Balanagar sub-inspector (SI) Md. Khaleel Pasha said. The supplementary results were announced on Sunday afternoon.

“The boy failed in two Mathematics papers,” he said. The incident took place around 4 p.m. after Deepak told his parents that he would take a shower. “The family grew suspicious when the victim did not come out and broke open the door only to see him dead,” the officer said, adding that the body was sent to Gandhi Hospital.
