Adobe to set up AI lab in Hyderabad

Adobe Systems will be setting up an Artificial Intelligence facility in Hyderabad soon.

CEO Shantanu Narayen conveyed the company’s decision to State IT Minister K.T.Rama Rao when they met on the sidelines of the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2018), which opened in the city on Monday.

In a release from the Minister’s office, Mr. Narayen said: “We are starting an advanced AI Lab in Hyderabad. As the global leader providing content creation and enterprise experience software solutions, driving innovative products is the core essence of our company.”

The abundance of tech talent in Hyderabad, coupled with the pro-business stance of Minister Mr. Rao make this an exciting initiative for growth for Adobe, he said, complimenting the State government for the “tremendous development that has happened in the past three-and-a- half years.” Availability of skilled manpower makes Hyderabad an attractive destination for IT companies, he said.

The two had first met in May 2015 in the US. “Since then, consistent efforts by the Minister and State government have finally yielded results, according to the release.

A leading software firm, Adobe Systems based in San Jose, US, has about 17,000 employees across the globe and revenues of $7.3 billion in 2017. Photoshop, PageMaker, Acrobat Reader, Illustrator and Dreamweaver are among the popular product line of the company.
