Collector M. Hanumantha Rao has directed the special officers to address the problems in villages. Presiding over a review meeting held here on Saturday, Mr. Hanumantha Rao said that the officials should make all out efforts to make the district open defecation free (ODF).

“We are lagging behind in constructing toilets in Narayanakhed constituency. Mandal parishat development officers should take it as a challenge. Identify masons locally and hire them by fixing rates. Train the unemployed youth in constructing toilets and this would provide employment. Provide sample material at village and start construction only with the consent of the beneficiaries,” he told the officials adding that the work must be with a drive and transparent.

Referring to fourth phase of Haritha Haram, the Collector expressed displeasure over the delay in its implementation. He has also suggested that nurseries must be made ready by October for next year.

DPO Venkateswarlu and others participated.
