Not a single stove was lit in the entire Kadipikonda village on Monday and the usual buzz associated with their activities on a normal day was missing.

Fourteen persons from the village went on a pleasure trip to witness the beauty of Papikondalu and the worst is being feared about the fate of nine who went missing .
Several youth gathered at the village junction and collected money from passersby to pool up and hire a vehicle to proceed to Devipatnam in East Godavari district to bring back the survivors and the deceased.
Speaking to The Hindu , a Class VIII girl B. Prasanna, daughter of Basike Rajender, said they had no information about her father’s fate. “A day passed and there is no information about my father. My classmates called me and said they are all praying for my father. My family members are in deep sorrow,” she said, choking.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that some bodies were fished out, of which two were identified as that of Basike Avinash (22) and Basike Rajender (55) from Kadipikonda in Warangal district.
According to officials, the two bodies would be brought back by midnight.

The river was swollen with heavy rains water and the launch operator was not aware of the strong current and whirlpools.
