Woman arrested for son’s death

The mother of an eight-year-old boy was arrested by the Vikarabad police for reportedly killing him. Rehan, the deceased, was allegedly hit by Fimina Begum as he was not eating food. The incident reportedly took place on Friday night at Alampally village in Vikarabad district. The accused was arrested after the Village Revenue Official (VRO) lodged a complaint against her. A case has been registered under section 302 (part 2) of the IPC and investigation is in process.

2 held for cheating

Two persons who were cheating people on the pretext of providing insurance policies and investments were arrested by the Central Crime Station police in New Delhi. The accused were identified as Ranjan Kumar Singh and Jitendra Kumar Yadav. The duo was brought to Hyderabad on a transit warrant and were apprehended based on a complaint from a retired employee who was reportedly cheated to the tune of ₹3.2 lakh.

Call routing gang busted

Five people were arrested by sleuths of the Task Force and Department of Telecom for running an illegal international call routing centre at Barkas, Chandrayangutta on Saturday. Officials seized 853 sim cards, one computer, a laptop, network set-up, a VOIP device, a router, eight cellphones and other items after arresting the accused, who were identified as Ghulam Khan, A. Ganesh, A. Naresh, B. Murali Krishna and J. Saikiran.

Of the accused Ghulam Khan used to take IP addresses from the customers and add them to his software device. With the help of their device and software, the accused used to bypass international long distance gateways and make money to the tune of ₹90,000 to ₹1.2 lakh a month, causing loss to the government, said a police release on Saturday.
