Virasam convention on Feb. 11, 12 at Proddatur

A two-day convention of Viplava Rachayithala Sangham christened ‘Virasam Sahitya Pathashala-2017’ will be held on February 11 and 12 at Proddatur of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh.

Announcing this here on Wednesday at a press conference, Virasam executive committee member and Arunatara magazine editor D.V. Ramakrishna Rao said the main theme of the convention will be ‘Indicators of Social Crisis– People’s Aspirations and Practice’. Mr. Rao, also known as Ramki, said speakers will deliver addresses on subjects of ‘Socialism– The Only Alternative’, ‘Rayalaseema State– A Perspective’ and ‘Sangh Parivar Fascism– Dalits and Muslims’.

While artistes of Praja Kala Mandali perform cultural programmes, poetry recitation will also be held on the first day. On the second day, 20 books – some of them translated versions – will be released. A public meeting will also held as part of the culmination of the convention.

“The two day session is open to all,” said Mr. Rao.
