Three more arrested in land scam

SIDDIPET: In a move that threatened to spell more problems to criminals, the police of Toguta have arrested three persons involved in Rampur land scam.

Toguta Circle Inspector Somnarayana Singh, who has been investigating the case, had already arrested Appanapally Anjaneyulu and Sheripally Kanaka Raju in the case in the second week of this month.

Those arrested on Saturday were identified as village revenue officer Annapurna, junior assistant Swamy and village revenue assistant Shankar. They were sent in remand.

The Hindu has reported about the case on Saturday and, incidentally, on the same day three more arrests took place.

It was reported that documents were forged to show as much as 44.37 acres of Government land as assigned land and get money by selling it to the Government under Mallannasagar project.
