Think of Ramzan and what comes to mind is dollops of ‘Haleem’. But this need not be the only dish of the month. There are a number of cuisines which are equally popular.
At least that’s what M.A. Basith would like to believe. This young hotelier is out to buck the trend. He is offering a variety of mouth-watering ‘kebabs’ and innovative cuisine this Ramzan.
Those tired of partaking the aromatic ‘Haleem’, can tickle their taste buds with a different fare. The Sultans Food Courts at Eat Street, Necklace Road and City Centre Mall, Banjara Hills have lined up an array of succulent ‘kebabs’ and biryanis for the ‘rozadars’. The special fare this season is ‘Galauti kebab’, ‘Kakuri kebab’ and ‘handi’ biryani.
The top-end ‘kebabs’ apart, Sultans is presenting rich concept food, a throwback to the era of Rajas, Maharajas and Nawabs. The menu showcases Sultans Biryani, Sultani Sheermal, Sultani Shahi Naan. Here, one can also explore Afghani Platters and Yemeni dishes.
“We are revising traditional food with new taste and traditional branding,” says Mr. Basith and adds that this food is highly nutritious for those who are fasting.
An IT professional, he brings tech-savviness to the hospitality industry. The whole idea is to present the food in a very conceptual way keeping in mind not just the locals but also the visiting tourists. For many who do not want to eat at the crowded ‘Haleem’ joints, Sultans offers a quiet corner with the right ambience.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Why not sample it after breaking the fast?
