Missing techie found murdered

April 06, 2010 04:12 pm | Updated 04:12 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Alleged illicit relationship with a housewife led to the murder of a MCA degree holder, D. Madhu Kumar, 27, who was missing for past five days, the Neredmet police found on Tuesday.

The partially burnt body of Kumar was recovered from Bandlaguda, off the hillocks of Jawaharnagar dumping yard of Alwal, based on the confession of the suspect detained in connection with his disappearance. The suspect told the police that he and four others -including an ex-tenant of Kumar’s house in Chandragiri colony of Neredmet- lured Kumar to ECIL on March 31 offering a liquor party.

“Kumar had developed relationship with the wife of the ex-tenant, a plumber, and used to be friendly with the latter. On learning about it, the plumber hatched a plot to eliminate Kumar,” the suspect told the Neredmet police. Kumar did not suspect intentions of the plumber when he invited him for the party since earlier too they consumed liquor together.

After getting heavily drunk at ECIL, the quartet took Kumar to an abandoned room in Jawaharnagar, murdered him by smashing his head with a boulder, shifted the body to the open place near the dumping yard, set it on fire and fled. Family members of the youth got worried as he did not return home on March 31 after leaving for his SAP classes in the morning.

They lodged a complaint with Neredmet police the same evening. A case of missing person was registered. While searches were on for him, police detained the suspect on a tip-off and found the victim was murdered. The suspect and four of his associates are being questioned.
