Posters on social media screamed, ‘The lion roars again’. And if you were wondering what it could be, it only takes a few more seconds of browsing to find out that its about our very own ‘Balayya Babu’ in the film ‘Legend’ that repeats the combination of actor Nandamuri Balakrishna and Boyapati Sreenu, of ‘Simha’ that scorched the screens on April 30, 2010.

Three movies since, the actor hasn’t found ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ (2011), ‘Srimannarayana’ and ‘Adhinayakudu’ (2012) much by way of success and hence the increased levels of expectation from such a combination. ‘Legend’, that released to housefuls, on Friday, has Radhika Apte and Sonal Chauhan cast opposite the hero and Jagapathi Babu as the villain. Music by DeviSri Prasad has already been received well by music lovers and viewers made the connect onscreen.

Interestingly, ‘Legend’ has got an ‘A’ certificate for more reasons than one. Its got violence, loads of it, with the typical ‘Balayya’ stamp. Then again there are what some people term ‘objectionable aspects’ and political innuendos. There are visuals showing the legendary NTR as seen in the 80s and hence the objections, coming as it does, after the notification of polls by the Election Commission.

‘Nagnasatyam’ based on true story

This Saturday, ‘Nagnasatyam’, a film that producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao and debutant director Kurapati Rama proclaim as inspired from a true story, will release. It took just under three months from pre-production to post-production and first print stage. But it got caught in problems because the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce did not give clearance for publicity for over a year.

Made on the Anuradha Films banner, this small film has Pakistani actress Veena Malik playing the lead role, one that is drawn around Tara Choudhary, who was in the news for allegedly running a flesh trade racket. While Sambhu Prasad, who has done a few films in the past, composed the music, other actors include veteran Chalapathi Rao, Ravi Babu, RK, Jackie and Vijay. It got an ‘A’ certificate too.
